Students may register online at most CSU campuses or they may download a registration form and mail it to the campus where they plan to take the test.
The EPT/ELM Information Bulletin, which is available in a downloadable PDF file, gives detailed information regarding the test dates, fees, materials required, sample questions, etc. Students must register for the test by the registration deadline at the campus where the test will be taken. Mailed registration forms must reach the testing office by the registration deadline. The EPT is offered at various CSU campuses throughout the year.
Online registration is available at many campuses, including Cal Poly's Online EPT Registration.
Students should take the EPT as soon as possible to know BEFORE registration if they qualify for English 134 (Writing: Exposition) or English 133 (Writing: Exposition--ESL) or if they will be required to complete developmental writing coursework in preparation for those courses.
When students take the test, they should indicate Cal Poly-SLO as their choice for sending the score report.
